9 -- the journey...
The Journey of 9 began in the year 2002 when i met Yudi at Fergi.. not really good pals and stuff at tht time (thanks to the crap ppl told us abt the other ;) ) and we never crossed each other's paths as well.. but we did one thing at tht time...we took part in the English Duet Competition at Oorja and sung a medley of The Eagles' - Love will keep us alive and The Moffats' - I'll be there for you... :) (ironically we are rockers!! :)) We never performed again...
Come 2004, i met Chetan... we jus hit it off from the start... guess it was the mutual love for Alternative Rock tht got us going...it was Chetan who actually boosted my confidence on stage and got me performing the way i do today!!! :) my friend... i said it yesterday and hell.. i am gonna say it again -- we've come a long way baby!!
Mid 2006, Yudi and i joined KPIT and hell we performed again... :) performed at the Annual Days.. et al...Deep inside, we knew tht, (sorry i am gonna copy this line now..) together we could really make a difference!!! \m/
End 2006, i had an encounter of a lifetime!!! :D i met the energetic, enthusiastic, morale boosting, shredding and rapping Prasun.. a blend of various genres.. loved jamming with him... we decided that we will do something with our music... tried our luck.. but somehow, we jus couldn't get the right ppl!!!
i will fast forward to April 2008.. the annual awards at KPIT... we created a magical uproar on the sound tht could be felt from the security gaurds to the CEO... and then we took a mutual call tht we WILL take this ahead... :) July 2008 -- 9 was formed!! (lets not forget tht...)
I roped in Prasun & Chetan... and thanks to our friend Prashant... :) we got our first gig at SIMS... and this was merely the TIP OF THE ICEBERG!!! :) then on we just got better and better.. BUT...... our sound was a bit empty... there was no bass (pronounced "baas" ;))
our search for a bassist was tiring... and then, Come September 2008.. :) we got the mild mannered Debopriyo... :) a gifted musician.. with an uncanny ability of adding the most melodious grooves to any damn song... his passion for classic rock helped us to redefine our sound in an amazing way!!! :D October 2008 -- 9 was complete... :) i won't dwell on wht happened after tht (frankly i have lost the patience to type now!! :)) but i must tell you one thing.. and i f**king sure you WILL agree with me...

Yudi - on the vocals and keyboards, loves to experiment with different & progressive sounds owing to his background of Classic Rock, Blues & Jazz.
Yayati - on the vocals & guitars maintains his stance on metal but is a firm believer of tonality and is highly influenced by Alternative & Psychedelic Rock.
Chetan - beating the skins in every way possible is the best way to define him... a pure alternative rocker by heart.
Prasun - on guitars; the youngest of the lot and a bundle of energy, he draws his inspiration from heavy metal & alternative rock.
Debopriyo – on bass; the best description for him would be - less talk, all grooves… a classic
rocker all the way.
